Ryan Thomas

Surf Coach

Ryan began surfing at the age of 11 at Newgale Beach and quickly developed a lifelong passion for the sport. By 13, he was already competing and has since gone on to become a two-time Welsh Champion, as well as representing both Team Wales and Team GB on the international stage.

With over 20 years of surf coaching experience, Ryan has worked with a variety of surf schools and organisations, developing a deep understanding of coaching surfers of all ages and abilities.

In 2013, he founded Cool Water Surf School, combining his experience and passion to create high-quality surf coaching in a fun and supportive environment.

Outside of surfing and coaching, Ryan enjoys keeping active and making the most of the Pembrokeshire coastline. You’ll often find him running the coastal paths, playing football for Solva AFC, or getting beat up at Merlins Bridge Amateur Boxing Club.
